2019 Travel Resolutions

Happy New Year! There’s nothing like January 1 to make you feel like anything is possible. Travel goals are no exception. For the past 3 years, I have included travel goals in my yearly planning and it has made all the difference.

Scratch Off Another Bucketlist Item for Mom

In 2018, my XtoZ family crew (13) traveled to Spain. It allowed quite a few family members to check off a bucket list item. So, the 2019 goal? Continue the trend. My mom turns 65 this year, so what better way to celebrate! I will share details in the near future, but doing so now would ruin the surprise.

Maximize the Long Weekend

Too often I fall into the mindset that you need long chunks of time to travel. Yet, I know it’s not true. In 2019, I want to look at 3-day weekends as opportunities for travel. We so often add a day to further extend the weekend, so there’s a world of opportunities (literally).

Return to the High Seas

My family went through its cruising phase. We have done it three times as an XtoZ crew (we once totaled more than 20). Perhaps a return to the seas for the easy, no-brainer vacay.

Improve at Documenting My Travels

I should have done this before starting a blog, huh? Well, the blog only increases the need and incentives for accomplishing this resolution. I still want to live in the moment, but I need to do a better job of documenting with pictures and written details. If nothing else, I want my son to be able and look back and see where he has traveled and the experiences we shared.

We will see where 2019 leads us, but the destination is not be the measuring stick. Rather, the deliberate goal setting and flexibility will determine success.
